An Early Internet Vision

In the 1990s, Kelly Nation was building websites and renovating homes. Inspired by This Old House, he registered OldHome.com with the goal of sharing useful restoration advice, product information and homeowner resources.

A History Preserved Online

Internet Archive captures document OldHome.com’s online presence by 1999. Around 2000 the site displayed a branded logo, trademark symbol and home-improvement mission statement.

Experiments in Online Publishing

Later versions of the site displayed product listings, home-restoration services and a WordPress blog. These were different attempts to pursue a consistent idea, rather than evidence of uninterrupted publishing.

Experience Beyond the Website

Alongside web projects, Nation continued building, renovating and investing in houses and helping clients with real estate. Those experiences inform the current publication.

A New Chapter for OldHome

The modern site combines project guides, tools, renovation advice and firsthand stories. The purpose remains what it was at the beginning: helping people make their homes better.
